Liz B. of Omaha, Ne. noticed a small water leak pooling up onto her bathroom ceiling after heavy rain. She searched for a notable roofing company on Google and called Clark's Roofing and Gutters to come out and assess the issue. She brought up a concern that they had their roof replaced about four years ago by a contractor who was no longer in business but noticed they didn't replace the pipe jack boots when they replaced the roof. 

She said they called the previous roofing company a few years before about the same issue and they sent someone to replace two of the four boots with new ones and the two that they didn't replace are the ones that are leaking now. We quickly went out to take a look at the issue. We noticed that the aluminum pipe jacks were starting to crack and had small holes around the top of the pipe that were allowing water to run down the pipe and eventually pool up onto the bathroom ceiling around the vent. We addressed the issue with Liz and recommended replacing all four with Perma boots. This would fix the leak and would give it a more appealing look to match the roof.

We also inspected the full roof and found a few other issues like exposed nails that were never sealed as well as a few spots of caulked hip and ridge joints that were cracking. We sealed all the exposed nails, hip, and ridge joints, and also sealed all the vents and chimney flashings to give Liz a little more peace of mind.

Recently on Apr. 26th, 2024 Elkhorn, NE experienced some very large storms that created a lot of damage for their residents. We quickly sprung into action helping many homeowners clean up debris and get roofs covered to prevent future damage from water leaking into homes or more asphalt shingle loss. We knew at this time this was a very stressful and disappointing time for our community. Clark's Roofing and Gutters decided to make the process as easy as possible so when a customer called we offered to tarp or cover their roof free of charge. We also partnered with local churches and other organizations by donating roofing underlayment to help our community in need. One customer who called was Jody she had some shingles blow off her roof a few blocks from where the tornadoes touched down. She was very thankful and was impressed by our quick response and wanted us to cover her roof and to work with her insurance company to assess the damage.

After the recent storm on Friday, another customer reached out to Clark's Roofing and Gutters to have their roof damage assessed and noticed quite a bit of hail damage. He was mainly concerned that he was going to have shingles that were blown off of his roof being only a few houses down from where the tornado touched down. After taking a look at the damage we were able to take photos of the hail damage to his asphalt shingle roof. We didn't find any missing or loose shingles during the inspection but will be working closely with Shelter Insurance on his claim to replace his roof.

We received a call from a customer that had some damage to their roof from a storm this past summer. They recently had an adjuster come out take a look at the roof and found some damaged shingles that blew off from the wind. The customer mentioned they also had some hail the night of the storm. The adjusters findings were only to replace 6 shingles that were from the wind. They called us out for a roof inspection and for the repairs. We started our inspection of the roof and found much more damage to the shingles, gutters, fascia metal, and window wraps. They decided to call insurance back for a re-inspection this time with us on site. We worked together with the two adjusters who came out and quickly were able to work together and locate the damage. They replaced the full roof, partial gutters, fascia, and metal window wraps.

Being in this business for many years we have found sometimes just a second opinion on an inspection can be a lot like getting a second opinion from a doctor or specialist. We recently received a call from a customer looking at installing a new roof and gutters after a home inspection. Not only were we able to save our customer thousands of dollars but we also were able to paint their home with the extra funds available they were planning on paying out of pocket before making a claim.
